The Post
Close up for profound moments,
Pan out for the shots of beauty of a press
Clicking away, the literal gears of democracy grinding,
This host of Hollywood hosts knows the importance of their tale.
It should be easy to mock their earnestness
But instead I find myself cheering for those reporters
Sitting cross legged on a living room floor
Trying to piece together the treachery of our country,
The idea that we can fix it if we just find
The other half of the memo,
Not to mention letting the silenced half of the room speak
Of something other than sandwiches.
